Demands on packaging in the supply chain
There exists a strong relationship between the design of the packaging and distribution savings. Packaging logistics should be regarded as an integrated part of the supply chain as it follows the product throughout the supply chain, from the supplier to the consumer.
Shipments are often subject to more than one mode of transportation throughout their journey. The largest impact on the costs related to the packaging derives from its interaction with activities in the whole supply chain.
